Here you can see the timeline of all of the emigrations out of Norway in our tree that have moved to North America.

Ole Pettersen and wife Eli Bjertesdatter moved to the USA in 1871. They set up in Minnesota at Lake Hanska, had 10 kids.

Peder Daniel Olsen moved to Iowa in 1877, he came back to Norway in 1889 and married Johanna. They moved back to Iowa a few months and settled down there.

Balsine Martine Pedersdatter moved to the USA in 1880 with her husband Kristen Ellefsen Torheim. Have found some records of “Sina P” in Duluth but would like to find more. Nothing on her husband so far other than mention in the death record.

Kari Steffensdatter moved out of Norway in 1881. Kari(Carrie) moved to Minnesota and stayed there until 1900 , she got remarried and moved to Washington state and lived in Tacoma.

Hessevåg-Bakke

Didrik Samuel moved out of Norway in May 26th 1882 and arrived in June 6th 1882. Found him on a census in Tacoma Washington january 1920, as a Fisherman visiting his cousin Carrie. Later in 1920 i found a death certificate from Alaska that matches him. Lived in Washington as a Fisherman, no marriage records so far.

Berstad/Blålid

Abel & Marta moved out of Norway in 1886. They moved to Clearwater County in Minnesota and stayed there until 1910 when they returned to Norway and lived their remaining years. Abel’s daughter Anne Elise also moved to the same county a couple years later, got married and remained there.

Elling Pedersen moved to the USA in 1888. Worked as a day labourer in Big Stone County, Minnesota. In 1901 he went back to Molde Norway, got married and returned to Minnesota with wife. They had 2 sons and then moved back to Norway in 1906 and settled in Møre og Romsdal.

Anfin Odin travelled the coast as fisherman until 1911 when he moved from Alta to the US. Came there in 1914, in 1917 he was with Ida(Ada) Johnson, Got registered in the enrollment with wife and child in June. Sadly died in Spetember, Child was born in January but passed away a year later. Not found record if he had a child before that or not or who Ida/Ada is.
