Stad er en kommune i Nordfjord i Vestland fylke som ble etablert 1. januar 2020 ved sammenslåing av kommunene Selje og Eid. I tillegg ble grunnkretsene Totland, Bryggja og Maurstad fra Vågsøy kommune lagt til Stad. Stad grenser til Sande, Vanylven og Volda i nord, til Stryn i øst, til Kinn i vest, og til Bremanger og Gloppen i sør.
Navnet viser til halvøya Stad.
Stad kommune ligger på nordsiden av Nordfjorden. Store deler av kommunen består av kupert fjellterreng, og de høyeste fjellene ligger øst i kommunen. Stads høyeste fjell er Glitregga på grensa mot Stryn, som ligger 1297,4 meter over havet. I den nordvestlige delen av kommunen ligger halvøya Stadlandet som strekker seg ut i Stadhavet. Det meste av innsjøen Hornindalsvatnet ligger i den østlige delen av Stad kommune. Innsjøen er Vestlandets største og Norges og Europas dypeste.

Stad is a municipality in Nordfjord in Vestland county which was established on 1 January 2020 by merging the municipalities Selje and Eid . In addition, the basic districts Totland, Bryggja and Maurstad from Vågsøy municipality were added to Stad. Stad borders Sande, Vanylven and Volda in the north, Stryn in the east, Kinn in the west, and Bremanger and Gloppen in the south.
The name refers to the peninsula Stad .
Stad municipality is located on the north side of the Nordfjord . Large parts of the municipality consist of hilly mountain terrain, and the highest mountains are located east of the municipality. The city's highest mountain is Glitregga on the border with Stryn , which is 1297.4 meters above sea level. In the north-western part of the municipality is the peninsula Stadlandet, which extends into the Stadhavet . Most of Lake Hornindalsvatnet is located in the eastern part of Stad municipality. The lake is the largest in Western Norway and the deepest in Norway and Europe.
