Luster er en kommune i Vestland fylke (tidligere Sogn og Fjordane fylke). Den ligger ved Lusterfjorden innerst i Sognefjorden, og grenser i nord til Stryn og Skjåk, i øst til Lom og Vang, i sør til Årdal og i vest til Sogndal og Sunnfjord. Luster kommune består i dag av de gamle herredene Luster, Jostedal og Hafslo. Urnes stavkirke, som er verdenskjent for sin arkitektur, ligger i Luster kommune.

Luster er den nest største kommunen i areal i Vestland og den 17. største i Norge. Mye av denne utstrekningen er fjellområder. Deler av Jostedalsbreen, Breheimen og Hurrungane ligger i kommunen. De kjente Skagastølstindane ligger på grensen mellom Luster og Årdal kommuner. Det høyeste fjellet i Vestland og Norges tredje høyeste fjell, Storen (Store Skagastølstind) 2 405 moh., markerer kommunegrensen.

Luster is a municipality in Vestland county (formerly Sogn og Fjordane county). It is located by the Lusterfjord in the innermost part of the Sognefjord , and borders in the north to Stryn and Skjåk , in the east to Lom and Vang , in the south to Årdal and in the west to Sogndal and Sunnfjord . Luster municipality today consists of the old manors Luster, Jostedal and Hafslo . Urnes Stave Church , which is world famous for its architecture , is located in Luster municipality.

Luster is the second largest municipality in area in Western Norway and the 17th largest in Norway. Much of this extent is mountain areas. Parts of Jostedalsbreen , Breheimen and Hurrungane are located in the municipality. The famous Skagastølstindane is located on the border between Luster and Årdal municipalities. The highest mountain in Western Norway and Norway's third highest mountain, Storen (Store Skagastølstind) 2,405 masl, marks the municipal boundary.
