      Alan Roy Folkestad lost his battle with cancer on July 21st, 2018 at the North Idaho Hospice Schneidmiller House in Coeur d’Alene.

      Alan was born to Nell Johnson and Aaron Folkestad on April 26th, 1958, in Butte Montana.

      Preceded in death by his mom, Nell Johnson he is survived by his daughter Heather Mulligan, son Jake Folkestad, his 3 sisters: Vicki Briscoe and her husband Scott, Sandy Forman and her husband Jim, Carol Parker, his stepdad and best friend Don Johnson, and many nieces and nephews.

      After surviving his railroad accident in 1983, he earned an associates degree and worked at Johnson Matthey in Spokane until he retired on disability in 2001. Throughout these years he took pride in raising his kids and enjoyed teasing his many nieces and nephews.

      Celebration of life will be held at his long time residence, 17741 W. Rice Ave., Hauser, ID 83854 at 11 am Friday July 27th, 2018.

      In lieu of flowers, consider giving a memorial donation to Hospice of North Idaho.
