Johann Georg Dieter and Maria Margaretha Luttmann arrived in Pennsylvania on the ship Molly in 1727. They came from Schwaigern, Württemberg. Johann Georg Dieter's father Michael was the mayor of Schwaigern. The couple married in Schwaigern and had several children before immigration. Their son Johann Georg was baptized 7 May 1730 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Most of the information in the memory beginning "Our earliest known Teeter family member" pertains to Jorg Dieter who arrived on the ship Allen in 1729 and lived on Opequon Creek in Virginia, and the military service in the Revolutionary War era pertains to his son George who later lived in Kentucky
