      Faith M. Reierson

      of Bremerton

      July 18, 1940

      to Nov. 1, 2013

Born in Klamath Falls, Ore. to Vivian and Francis (Rolly) Pettis, Faith was raised in Bremerton and graduated from West High School in 1958. She went on to graduate from Pacific Lutheran University in 1962 with a bachelor’s of science degree in nursing. In her freshman year at P.L.U., while touring with The Choir of the West, she met the love of her life, Larry. They were married in March of 1964 at First Christian Church in Bremerton.

Her nursing career started at Swedish Hospital in Seattle. She received her masters of nursing from the University of Washington, continued to work with Community Health on Bainbridge Island and started a parish nursing ministry at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in 1987. Following a long and distinguished career in nursing education, she was appointed the coordinator of the nursing program at Olympic College.

She retired in 1991 and enjoyed the summers sailing; in all, 14 trips to the west side of Vancouver Island, six trips to Southeast Alaska, and many favorite Puget Sound locations.

Faith was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband, Larry; daughters, Kathleen (Philip) Nenninger and Christy (Matthew) Miller; six grandchildren; her sister, Pauline Mueller; and her aunt, Eleanor Wass of California.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 11th and Veneta. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church or Hospice of Kitsap County.
