      The Seattle Times - 23, February 2004

Orville "Orv" J. DAVICK Born in Minot, ND. September 3, 1926, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather departed on his final journey January 15, 2004 after a long struggle with cancer. Married to Dorothy Jones Honey in 1973, he is survived by a blended family of six children, Pamela (Tony) Canlis, Cheryl (Michael) Weir, Linda Davick, Steve (Connie) Davick, Dennis (Nikki) Honey, Diana Honey (Adam) Kiss and twelve grandchildren. He also leaves behind three out of ten siblings, twin sister Opal (Arthur) Danielson of Rochester, WA.; Valerie (Glenn) Forgey of Enumclaw, WA. and Kelly (Norma) Davick of Fall Branch, TN., and an extended family of cribbage players. Following his retirement from Best Products as Warehouse manager for 21 years, Orv kept busy working with the election board, US Census Bureau, telephone book delivery, and his neighborhood Seattle Disaster and Emergency Response Team. He was one of those rare, gentle souls who makes this a better world for us all. He will be greatly missed. The family gives it's heartfelt thanks to Dr. Henry Kaplan and staff at Swedish Cancer Institute who supported Orv through his years of struggle and Swedish Hospice for easing his final days at Arden Rehabilitation; also to 911 for their many prompt and caring responses. Cremation by Bleitz Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be planned later. Memorials may be sent to Swedish Cancer Institute, c/o Dr. Henry Kaplan - Patient Fund, 1221 Madison St., Seattle, WA. 98104.
