achary Thomas Bunker, age 25, died March 9, 2014 at his home in Anchorage, Alaska. He was born Nov. 19, 1988, in Anchorage to Glenn and Janet Bunker. He attended Rabbit Creek Elementary, Goldenview Middle School, and graduated from South High School in 2007. He completed the five year AJEATT Electrical Apprenticeship in 2013. A natural athlete, he excelled in many sports growing up. He was a high school diver and champion gymnast. Zach was a journeyman electrician who loved his work and participated in many projects including the UAA science building, Providence Hospital, Goose Creek Correctional Center, Southcentral Power Plant, JBER and various others. He enjoyed hunting, camping, motorcycling, scuba diving, family cabins on Lalen and Skilak Lakes, and gatherings with his family and many friends. Zachary was especially proud of his brother Matthew, with whom he shared a special lifelong bond. Zachary met Carissa, the love of his life, in 2011 and was happily planning his future with her.
He is survived by his loving parents, Glenn and Janet Bunker; brother, Matthew Bunker; and fiance, Carissa Clinton; grandparents, Jerry and Peggy Bunker; grandmother, Dagrun Brotherston; aunts and uncles, Greg and Maria Bunker; Aaron and Susan Bunker; Arlys Brotherston; Jon and Karen Rivenburg; and Stuart and Ruth Brotherston; cousins, Ellen Aronson, Alex Brotherston, Scott Bunker, Heidi Jones, Jenny Bunker, Max Bunker, Race Bunker, and Denali Bunker.
Zachary was preceded in death by his grandfather, Willard Brotherston; and his uncle Jeff Bunker.
Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel. Private services will be held for family and close friends. Zachary's ashes will be spread at the family cabin on Skilak Lake and interred at Angelus Memorial Park in the spring.
