      Jonas Rasmus Didrikson was born in Isene, Nordfjard, Norway, September 14, 1893 to Mr. and Mrs. Didrik Isane. Jonas came to the United States in 1913 and lived at Wheaton, Minnesota for a few years before moving to Badger, Minnesota. He married Lize Brotherston on February 25, 1919 at Roseau. They farmed and raised their family in the Badger community. Mrs. Didrikson passed away in 1970. On October 3, 1970 he was married to Thilda Landby. Jonas was very active in community and church activities including the "Sons of Norway". He enjoyed fishing and for the past 19 years has lived at Springsteel Island, near Warroad.

      Jones passed away November 8 at the Roseau Area Hospital after an illness which had lasted several weeks.

      Funeral services for Jonas Rasmus Didrikson were held November 11, 1978 at the Faith Lutheran Church, rural Badger with Rev. Jerry Hanson officiating. Burial was in the Nannestad Cemetery.

      Surviving Jonas are his wife: Thilda; Children: Jessie (Mrs. Edwin Belguim) of Farwell, Minnesota; Marvin of Badger; Severt of Badger; Etta (Mrs. Allan Linder) of Warroad; Eva (Mrs. Harry Gregerson) of Badger: George of Badger; Dorothy (Mrs. Harold Grotte) of Elk River, Minnesota; Joann (Mrs. Ronald Bina) of Clarendon Hills, Illinois; 30 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers: Severt, Ludvig, and Karl of Norway; Ola Isane of Rapid City, S.D.; 2 sisters: Dina and Astrid of Norway; 2 step-daughters: Ruth (Mrs. Fred Myer) of International Falls, Minnesota; and Lenore (Mrs. Kenneth Christian) of Swift; 7 step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren: and nieces, nephews and other relatives in Norway and Sweden.

      Pallbearers were: Craig Nelson, Roger Didrikson, Gerald Didrikson, Brian Gregerson, Carter Hontvet; and Todd Grotte. Honorary bearers were all his many friends.

      Helgeson Funeral Chapels of Roseau were in charge of arrangements.
