      Norman Everett Dille, 91, of Newton died on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.

      Norman, the son of Alfred and Gladys (Pote) Dille, was born on July 22, 1929 in Grinnell. He grew up in Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell High School in 1947. Norman served his country in the U.S. Marines from 1951-1953. He then earned a Bachelor of Tool Engineering degree from Allied Institute of Technology in Chicago. Norman worked as a Tool Engineer at the Maytag Company for 37 years, retiring in 1994. Norman was married to Eleanor Grimsbo.

      Norman is survived by his four children, Bruce Dille of Conyers, Georgia, Laura Patton of West Des Moines, Wayne (Karla) Dille of Des Moines, and Rachel (Alex) Palomo of Meridian, Idaho; six grandchildren; and four great-granddaughters.

      He was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Jesse Patton.

      The family will greet friends from 11-1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Immediately following a graveside service will be held at Newton Union Cemetery.
